Rent The Runway: Bachelorette Edition

After weeks of searching for a cute white dress for my bachelorette party weekend, I had just about given up. It seemed like all the white dresses I came across were too see-through, not my style or didn’t fit.

The Tuesday before my bachelorette weekend, I decided to check out Rent The Runway (affiliate link) and found two dresses that they could deliver to me within two days. My dresses arrived Thursday afternoon via UPS in a big brown box. Each dress was on a hanger in a plastic garment bag with simple instructions for how to return them. Insurance for each dress was $5 and shipping was $9.95. I ordered the following dresses:

The first dress, a white and blue skintight RVN, retails for $395. To rent, it was $35. I ordered a medium and it was way too tight. Like, really tight. Matt had to help me get it off because I couldn’t even breath in it. So that one was a no. That left the Parker dress. My fingers were crossed because at this point, I was leaving the following morning for my bachelorette party in South Lake Tahoe.

The Parker dress (retails $425, $30 to rent) had a high halter neckline with gold sequins and bead embellishments. It was gorgeous on the hanger… and even more gorgeous on! I was in love. The medium fit like a glove and it was glamorous, sparkly and would work perfectly for my bachelorette night on the town.

Rent The Runway made it so easy to find a dress last minute. They take the hassle out of going to the mall and spending hours trying on dresses. All of the dresses on the site have reviews from other gals that have worn them so you get sizing tips, what occasions they’ve been worn it for, and body type. Rent The Runway dry-cleans the dresses after each use and the $5 insurance fee covers minor stains and damage.

Besides dresses, you can rent outerwear and even rent accessories. Purses, jewelry, hats, and sunglasses. Another cool thing? You can rent wedding accessories! If you’re like me, you think it’s ridiculous to spend hundreds on your veil and sash. They have some gorgeous veils (like this one for $40 or this birdcage veil for $30), pretty sashes (this golden one is only $10!), and lovely hair pieces, too.

Rent The Runway is also on Ebates so make sure you shop through Ebates to get 3.5% cashback on your orders. Sign up for Ebates here.
