Stay Smooth All Year Long

We are currently experiencing a heat wave here in the Bay Area. I’m talking 80+ degrees on the coast! This beach town blonde knows that staying hydrated is important all year long, especially in this kind of weather. Keeping your skin hydrated starts from the inside out. Below are three tips for smooth and moisturized skin year round.

1. Drink lots of water! For me, this is easier said than done. It’s so important to drink plenty of water throughout the day and I found some great ways to remind myself. Of course there’s an app for that! There’s actually a bunch of apps available to keep track of how much water you intake that are perfect when you’re out and about. When I’m at home, I keep a notebook for work and at the top of the page each day, I track how many glasses I drink. You can set an alarm, use a large jug and make it your goal to drink the entire thing, or even make it a game (8 glasses = a scoop of ice cream). The last one isn’t the healthiest way, but hey — at least it has you drinking water.

2. Exfoliate your skin. I use a body scrub once or twice a week all over to get rid of any dead skin. I prefer to use a loofah while I’m in the shower, but a washcloth works too. I also use a lip scrub every other day since I love wearing lipstick and lip stains. During the winter months when it’s colder out, my lips are often dry and a little bit of scrubbing keeps the chapped lips away. See below: nice and smooth for the perfect lipstick application.

3. Moisturize. After I do any lip scrubs, I always use lip balm. When it comes to moisturizing my body, I used to do it the old way: after a shower I would dry myself off, rub lotion all over, and stand there for a few minutes, waiting for it to dry so I could put my clothes on. Honestly, when I hop out of the shower, the last thing I want to do is stand there cold. I found a solution! Last week I went to Target and purchased new Jergen’s Wet Skin Moisturizer.

Jergen’s Wet Skin Moisturizer is applied to wet skin and the product absorbs instantly, leaving you with smooth, soft skin for 24 hours. No more standing outside the shower freezing, waiting for lotion to dry. Your skin’s peak moisture moment is when it’s wet which is why it’s the perfect time lock in all that hydration from your shower. You might be thinking that you need to rinse, but nope! You do not rinse after you’ve applied it, just pat yourself dry.

Since I purchased the new product, I’ve been using it every day and I am loving how my skin looks (shiny), feels (soft) and smells (wonderful). I bought Jergen’s Wet Skin Moisturizer in Coconut Oil and Monoi Oil scents and they smell fantastic! I’m going to Las Vegas this weekend and I refuse to leave home without it. All the recycled air in the casinos dry out my skin and I’m really excited that I have a new beauty routine to combat that.

My skin is the smoothest it’s ever been and even my husband’s impressed with this product! I didn’t have a chance to shower today yet, but my skin is still hydrated and soft (I last showered over 24 hours ago!). This, my friends, is a game changer! Keep an eye out for the Target circular ad available on September 13th to get 5% on Jergen’s Wet Skin Moisturizer to try for yourself.

I always end up neglecting my lips! I like the idea of a lip scrub to help me keep my lips smooth. You’re right – there’s nothing worse than your lipstick going on all uneven because of dry lips! That and the Jergen’s Wet Skin Moisturizer are definitely cold-weather must-haves! #client
