This year was my fifth year attending Live 105’s BFD with my best friend Ashley. While we had just come back from Summer Camp Festival in Illinois the weekend before and were definitely tired, we decided we couldn’t miss BFD. It was Year 5 after all and who knows if we’ll go again. After Summer Camp Festival, I realized I might not be able to do multi-day camping festivals anymore. I need clean toilets, sink basins and at least a couple hours of sleep to function. Maybe I crave the finer things in life, like showers and a mattress. Regardless, I was a little exhausted from SCF but knew Ashley and I had to keep on, keeping on.
I was really pleased with the lineup this year at BFD and got see most of the bands that were high on my list. I’ve been a fan of Fitz and the Tantrums for about four years now and I always enjoy seeing them live. This year, they made it to the main stage and while I didn’t catch the whole set, what I did see was great as usual.
I have to point out how great Ashley and my lashes look. You know I have to plug my fabulous 3D Fiber Lash Mascara when I can.
Phantogram and Walk the Moon were both great live. I was looking forward to hearing Bleachers and unfortunately, the only song I liked that they performed was the one I hear on the radio, “I Wanna Get Better.” The Subsonic tent was going off and I actually ran into a couple friends there. The Subsonic tent is a great place to chill when you need to get out of the sun for a couple minutes. No sunburn for me this year.
Foster the People headlined and MIA performed before them. We skipped out on watching both of them. We had both seen Foster the People before and Ashley’s seen MIA, but in all honesty, it was a Sunday night and we both had work the next day. The crowded parking lots and all the jampacked streets near the amphitheater when a show gets out is pretty gnarly. We dodged a bullet. We also stopped by In-and-Out on the way home because, HELLO! Burgers, fries and milkshakes. Diets can always start on Monday.
One band that I didn’t catch this time but need to soon is a local band from the San Francisco Bay Area: Finish Ticket. They played the Bud Light Festival Stage These guys get a lot of buzz around here and are actually sponsored by Velodyne.

Today I’m blogging over at Knotsvilla and sharing how I asked my girlfriends to be my bridesmaids. Plus, I threw in a few extra ideas too! Below is a picture of one of the boxes before being delivered. The second picture is my friend’s Instagram post saying YES!!
Weddings are such a wonderful opportunity to bring all of your family and friends together to celebrate love and unity! I absolutely love seeing everyone get all dressed up too.
A good friend of mine always pulls out all the stops when she is asked to be a bridesmaid so I cannot wait to see her outfit on the big day. I can pretty much guarantee she will have already shortlisted some of the gorgeous dresses for curvy bridesmaids over on the Leading Ladies LA website.
No matter what size you are, a wedding is a great opportunity to feel glamorous and I love the fact that I have such a diverse group of body confident ladies to call my bridesmaids!
So, check out the blog post below for some more wedding themed content.
Wedding planning can be totally overwhelming if you try to tackle everything at once. Before even starting, I would take a look at numerous wedding planning tips lists and gather some knowledge on the process. You might learn some things you never, ever even considered.

In the past, I’ve had horrible luck with ordinary headphones. My cat has bitten through the standard white iPhone headphones (three times!!) and other replacement headphones tend to stop working through one ear bud in a matter of weeks. Oh and then there’s the tangling. The tangling of the cords drives me absolutely insane! By the time I’ve managed to pull the cords apart, I’ve already wasted five minutes of my life. I really should just invest in some cordless headphones from headphonage.com and that would save me so much time and effort.
Another downfall of regular, cheap-y headphones is that they fall out constantly, especially while I’m working out. The ear-buds are too large for my ears, but the standard iPhone headphones are one of those “one-size fits all” lies. One-size never “fits all.”
Cut to last year when I received vPulse earphones. My headphone issues were no more. No need to blast my music to keep out background noise. No more tangled mess to deal with! Velodyne earphones have a flat cable, which will minimize tangling.
Plus, these earphones work wonders while working out! They never fall out while doing cardio because the ear tips actually fit my ears. The product comes with multiple sizes to choose from since one-size doesn’t fit all.
Another plus: phone calls have never been so clear. I can talk on the phone, hands-free, and not have to worry about whether the person on the other end can hear me. The microphone quality is exceptional.
These headphones work wonders for keeping outside noise out. The other day I was riding BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) and used my headphones to block out the loud screeching noise the train makes when it goes underground. I didn’t even have the headphones plugged into my phone.
I LOVE my Velodyne headphones so much that I carry them everywhere. They come with a zip-up protective carrying case, cable clip, and multiple sized ear tips.
