Road Trip Bucket List

robin's road trip bucket list

Matt and I are planning a few road trips this summer and fall while the weather is nice and gas prices are somewhat low. There are so many places to see, but not enough free weekends to do them all! I’m a huge fan of road trips. One thing I’ve learned throughout the years is that it is not that much about where you travel, but how and with whom you travel. Road tripping with Matt ticks all the boxes. Road trips give you total freedom and flexibility. No timetables, no schedules, no nothing. This allows you to be spontaneous and helps you to relax as you aren’t stuck to any sort of plan. To be even more spontaneous it’s a good idea to buy something like a motorhome to give you even more freedom as you won’t have to worry about finding a place to stay the night. Just make sure that you get the right insurance for your motorhome if you decide to get one (staveley head has competitive motorhome insurance rates if you would like to get an idea of what the price would be). Of course, this might not be for everyone, I know this will scare some people, but try to not plan when going on road trips. Of course, you need a general plan of where you’d like to go and how to get there, but it’s about the experience and the journey. Matt and I are already planning some international road trips, as there are so many countries we’d like to visit and drive through. Iceland is top of our list and we have already found out that you can hire a car from Cars Iceland. However, we’d also like to do Italy, Spain and Switzerland.

For now, though, we are sticking to America. Next weekend we are headed to Monterey for a night. We want to check out the Monterey Bay Aquarium, which Matt and I both can’t remember if we’ve ever been. Of course while we’re in town, we have to order some fresh seafood. Before we head home, I want to get some picture-taking in with my DSLR and maybe make a pitstop at the tide pools.
