Robin and Matt’s Park Engagement Photos

Less than five months until I become a Mrs! I am so excited to walk down the aisle and give Matt a big ol’ kiss after we’re pronounced hubs and wife. The wedding planning has been fun and while I could plan and plan all day long, I am looking forward to the big celebration, our honeymoon, and becoming a wife.

Matt and I won a second photographer at a bridal fair so we got to take two engagement photo shoots. Doesn’t hurt to have extra photos, plus it was great experience for both of us to get comfortable in front of the camera. Both photographers are amazingly talented and so sweet. We really lucked out and are in love with all of our photos. I can’t wait to put together a photo book of all of them.

The photos below were taken in San Pedro Valley Park, one of Matt and my favorite hiking spots in Pacifica. The photo shoot was with Briana Calderon of Briana Calderon Photography. Briana and I met through a mutual friend and turns out we both went to San Jose State. This was Briana’s first time in Pacifica and while it was pretty freaking windy, I hope it didn’t scare her from coming back to visit again. Briana shoots weddings, engagement pictures, portraits and events. She is based in the San Francisco Bay Area.

For the eye makeup, I used Younique’s 3D Fiber Lash Mascara, which you can purchase HERE for $29 + tax and shipping. My fave mascara!

Hiking in Pacifica: San Pedro Valley Park

Hiking in Pacifica. San Pedro Park

San Pedro Valley Park is a gem here in town. This local hiking spot in the back of valley has some great trails for those looking for an easy-going walk, a grueling hike, or something in between.

It’s hard to believe you can hike in the hills, put your feet in the Pacific Ocean, and be only a 15-minute drive from a big city (San Francisco) in Pacifica. If only there were more good food options in town, this place could be near perfect. Well, and maybe a little less fog, but this is good enough for me 🙂

Meringue Kisses

When I was younger, my dad would take me to Mazzetti’s Bakery in Pacifica before church on Sundays (on non-Mazzetti Sundays, we’d go through the McDonald’s drive-thru and pick up Egg McMuffins with extra hash browns). Mazzetti’s makes fresh pastries on location and made these amazing meringue kisses that I craved. Light, airy and fluffy perfection. My favorite? The white kisses with the multi-colored sprinkles on top.

I have attempted several times over the years to recreate Mazzetti’s meringues with no such luck. They never look or taste quite the same. Thank goodness Pinterest came along because the variations are endless (though the ingredients are basically identical) and I might one day be able to recreate a version close to my old favorite. Maybe I should invest in a piping device so I can get the shape just right.
